“We have created an environment where kids are growing up wanting
more shiny things and starving for the fundamental core human relational aspects
of touch, smile, and a moment spent sitting with someone.”
– Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D.
Meet children where they are and help them conquer their struggles.
As a therapist, I believe the quality of children’s relationships predicts much about the quality of their future relationships and life.
I base my clinical treatment approach on a solid foundation of scientific theory, research, and professional practice in child development and mental health.
When working with children of all ages, I come from a place of respecting neurodiversity (i.e., whether neurotypical or neurodivergent) and deeply respect children as individuals.
My young clients come to me with a range of significant conditions, including autism, sensory processing disorder (SPD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), rare genetic symptoms, depression, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities.
Through education, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, play therapy, art therapy, psychotherapy, and sometimes a combination of support from other specialists (i.e., occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists), the children I work with can begin to adopt coping strategies in the face of life’s challenges that help them identify with their strengths, resilience, and overall well-being instead of being defined by their struggles. I am ready and excited to help your child.
Parenting isn’t easy, especially when problems arise!
And throughout the process, everyone needs support. Parents and families also often work with me to address various issues that cause them frequent distress. Those issues include behavioral challenges at school and home, childhood aggression, mental health struggles, situational crises such as illness and loss, separation anxiety, or difficulties with peers and siblings.
Staying regulated emotionally, communicating effectively, and using a positive parenting approach can be challenging when your child encounters personal challenges that interfere with daily routines, relationships, and school performance.
Also, during the trying times we now face, it is understandable that some parents need an objective perspective from a professional to help them learn how to talk effectively to their children about difficult topics.
As a parent, it can feel overwhelming to figure out if a behavior your child exhibits is developmentally appropriate. If it isn’t appropriate, it is equally challenging to determine how to address behaviors that need more attention.
Avoiding the past doesn’t make parenting easier.
Some parents work hard to sort through their childhood luggage or current grief to leave it out of the relationship with their children.
Others may have difficulty finding ways of attending to their other family members or themselves with their child’s requirement of one-to-one attention, resulting in feelings of frustration, burnout, and guilt.
Many parents find it tricky to figure out the delicate balance of setting limits that embody a firm and loving approach.
Maintaining consistency while practicing new skills using a positive parenting approach doesn’t come easily for everyone. It’s not uncommon for families to disagree about setting limits, holding boundaries, and following through with discipline strategies. These disagreements are why it can be highly beneficial to seek the support of a therapist they trust to help create and implement a consistent parenting approach respectful to everyone.
Whether facing the newness of your first pregnancy, stressing over unfamiliar symptoms of a diagnosis, or dealing with stressful family issues, know that you don’t have to do it alone. Let someone support you in navigating the challenges you face.

Let’s ease some of your parenting struggles.
Receiving direct therapy for children, parents, or the whole family is highly beneficial!
Relationship-based therapy can help families move through difficult periods of grief/loss, major life stressors and transitions, behavioral challenges, communication issues, feeding and potty-training challenges, and disciplinary and parenting difficulties.
Choose to work with a specialist you can trust to help you build your confidence, connection, and overall health in the parent-child relationship.
I also help families find whatever resources are necessary outside my care. My clients vary in age and include infants and toddlers (0-5), young children (6-12), or growing teens (13-17), as well as parents and grandparents!
Let’s work together and help you overcome your parenting struggles. Both you and your child deserve a loving and positive relationship.
